Reva Elizabeth Bell (Bolivar's Obituary
Reva Elizabeth Bell, 84, passed away Friday, March 31st at Cox South Hospital.
Reva was born in Brighton, MO on August 3, 1932. She was the daughter of Boyd and Flora Choate.
She married Melvin Bell on October 17, 1956. They shared 46 years together before Melvin's death in
2002. Reva "Granny" was a homemaker and enjoyed Sunday family dinners. She was a member of Lone
Star Baptist Church. Her greatest joy in life was her family. Reva was preceded in death by her husband,
Melvin Bell; her parents, Boyd and Flora Choate; four brothers, Hershel, Marshall, B.A.
and Bobby Choate; two infant siblings that died at birth. Three grandchildren, Donnie Kessler and
Shawn and Shannon Jenkins. And two son-in-law's, Ronald Kessler and Ricky Day.
She is survived by her nine children, Glenda and Frank Jenkins of Theodosia, Nina Kessler of Morrisville,
Teresa and Melvin Roy of Aldrich, Johnnie and Glenda Bell of Hall Town, Rosita Day of Marshfield, Junior
and Lyn Bell of Bolivar, Becky and John Baker of Bolivar, Rhonda Rotramel of Tulsa, and Melvina and
Randy Tucker of Willard; one Sister, Verba Horner of Springfield; 28 grandchildren; 44 great
grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren. Pall Bearers: Johnnie Bell Jr., Tony Day, Josh Baker,
Dustin Kessler, Zach Baker, and Douglas Berziel Jr. Honorary Pall Bearers: Russell Hanks, J.R. Jenkins,
Blake Tucker, and Jeremy Berziel.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, April 3 at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Graveside service will
be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4 at Brighton Cemetery. It will be officiated by Jim flora.
