Dear Hastings Family,
I'm truly sorry to hear of your loss. When we lose our loved one in death the grief can be over whelming. Many have been able to find strength and comfort in the fact that the Bible calls death an enemy. What's more, it gives this powerful reassurance at 1 Corinthians 15:26, "And the last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing." Jesus himself promised a resurrection right here on the earth (John 5:28-29). So one day soon death will be gone and our dead loved ones will live again.
