Rhonda Campos (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Rhonda Denay Campos was born Rhonda Denay Green to Melvin and Linda Green on February 5, 1967. She lived for a short while in Deepwater, Missouri before moving to Kansas City, Kansas where she spent her childhood. She passed away on December 17, 2022, in Fair Grove, Missouri.
While living in Kansas City, she married Howard Walters and had two sons: Brandon Walters and Anthony “Tony” Walters. Later, she remarried to Dominic Campos and had one son, Ryan Campos. They raised their children together for many years in Pittsburg, Missouri. After separating, Rhonda would spend the rest of her days in Fair Grove, Missouri.
Rhonda is known to be a “collector” of sorts. One of her favorite animals were pigs. Since she could not have her own, she would collect various pig items: pig slippers, cookie jars, home décor, etc. Moving away from possessions, she also liked to surround herself with people—not crowds, she did not like those—but friends and family. You would hear her say often of how she adopted people into her family. She claimed many as her daughters or sons or brothers and sisters. Ever so often, she also gathered animals: cats, dogs, rats, ferrets, squirrels. It made no difference. It would be no surprise if you showed up to her house and she had a new critter to introduce you to.
When Rhonda wasn’t adopting people or animals into her family, she was devoted to her managerial job with Pizza Hut. So much so that she would make you question her devotion when she decorated her house with Pizza Hut décor. Rhonda enjoyed many other things such as being in nature, spending time with her grandchildren, watching Survivor, and relaxing with friends.
She is survived by her three sons, Brandon Walters, Anthony “Tony” Walters, and Ryan (Jenesa) Campos; four grandchildren, Brandon Walters Jr., Dayton Walters, Audrina Campos, and Leon Campos; three siblings, Dianna Miller, Renita Green, and Jonathon Carroll.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home. Escorts will be Trenton McElwee, Jack Mier, Johnnie Mier, Brandon Walters Sr, Brandon Walters JR, Ryan Campos, and Dominic Campos, Dayton Walters. Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens of Memory under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 12:00-2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
