Richard "Dick" William Garroutte (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Richard “Dick” William Garroutte was born on November 11, 1949 in Joplin, Missouri to Lonnie and Bertha Cumins Garroutte. He departed this life Friday, November 28, 2025 in his home in Hartville, Missouri at the age of seventy-six years, seventeen days.
Dick grew up in the Blackfoot Community and attended Blackfoot School. He graduated from Lebanon High School and enlisted in the United State Navy. He served in Vietnam and was proud of his country and service. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, Dick returned to Lebanon before moving to Kansas City where he was employed in the electrical division of Owens Corning Fiberglass. He was there for thirty-three years before retiring and moving to the Grovespring area.
On February 18, 1972, Dick was married to the love of his life, Diane Lynne Ginnings. They made many wonderful memories together while and raising their family.
Dick is preceded in death by his wife, Diane in 2005; and two brothers, Mike Garroutte and Terry Cumins.
He is survived by his daughter, Stisha Burton of Oak Grove, Missouri; his son, Richard Garroutte, II of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren, Joshua Burton, Drake Garroutte, Deanna Garroutte and Abbigail Weaver; one brother, David Garroutte of Buffalo, Missouri; his sister, Paulette Stidham of Lebanon, Missouri; and other family members and friends.
Dick enjoyed things with a motor, especially his Harley Davidson motorcycle and his red corvette. He loved to go out for a ride in the beautiful Missouri Ozarks and beyond.
He also had an appreciation for Fox Trotter horses and attended many horse shows.
Above all, Dick will be remembered for his spunky personality and good sense of humor. You always knew where he stood on any subject. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather. Dick lived a life that exemplified leadership and a zest for adventure. His memory will be treasured forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
Funeral service for Dick Garroutte will be Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Mt Horeb Cemetery.
A memorial to Mt. Horeb Cemetery has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
