Richard Grimm's Obituary
Richard David Grimm, son of William Buyrl and Mildred Katherine Evans Grimm, was born, January 7, 1927 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He departed this life, Thursday, July 28, 2011, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of eighty-four years, six months and twenty-one days.
On June 18, 2003 in Wellington, Nevada, he was united in marriage to Nora Katherine Hughes. Together they shared eight years of marriage.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Williams Thomas Grimm and his first wife, Patricia of fifty years.
Survivors include his wife, Nora Grimm of the home; a daughter, Judith Gayle of Wheatland, Missouri; a grandson, Christopher Lutz of Wheatland, Missouri; a granddaughter, Rebecca Barone and husband Rick of Temecula, California; three great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Richard was raised in Kansas City, Missouri and attended school there. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. After being honorable discharged, he obtained a Bachelor?s of Art Degree and began a career as an Industrial Arts Teacher at El Cerrito High School. He always took an interest in young people and music. For many years in California, he worked with church youth groups and sang in the choir.
Richard made a profession of faith and followed the Baptist faith.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and was a third degree Mason. He was also a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9638 in Galmey, Missouri.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
