Richard King's Obituary
Richard Eugene King, 73, of Bolivar was called home to the Lord on January 17, 2009, after a long battle with cancer. He was born on May 6, 1935 in Mound City, Missouri, the son of William Lincoln King Sr. and Pauline Maude (Fries) King. On March 9, 1957 he married Earlene Mackey in Morrisville, MO. He retired to Bolivar in 1973 after serving 21 years in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Southwest Baptist University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and started his own business, AAA Bookkeeping and Tax. He also served as Polk County Clerk from 1991 to 1995. He was a member of the Bolivar United Methodist Church, the American Legion, the Bolivar Optimist Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pauline King. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Earlene (Mackey) King of the home; two sons, Mike King of Lake Lotawana, MO. and Randy King, and his wife Peggy of Bolivar MO.; and three daughters, Marchell Patti, and her husband Paul of Raymore, MO., Becky Becker, and her husband Jim of Peculiar, MO, and Annette Allen of Peculiar, MO; 14 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, William L. King Jr. and his wife Colleen of Chillicothe, MO. and Robert L. King and his wife Shirley of Mendon, IL, and one sister Wilma R. Wardlow of Maryville, MO; and a host of friends and relatives. Services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 24, 2009, at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Rev. Dan Adkison officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Bolivar, Missouri. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 23, 2009 between 5:30 and 7:00p.m. at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Friends and family are welcome.
