Richard Magnuson, Jr. (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mr. Richard “Dick” David Magnuson, Jr., age 60, of Bolivar, Missouri passed away on Monday afternoon, October 10, 2011, in an excavation accident in Stockton, Missouri.
He was born January 29, 1951 on Kindley Air Force Base, Bermuda, the son of Richard David Magnuson, Sr. and Gladys Andersen.
On June 8, 1974, he married Lynn Marie Nachowicz in Mundelein, Illinois.
Dick owned and operated Terratrax Excavation for the past 37 years. He served on the Board of Directors at Citizens Memorial Hospital in Bolivar, Missouri for 21 years. He was also active in Bolivar American Legion Baseball for many years.
Dick took great pride in his role as a husband, father and grandfather. He was known to his family as caring, active and fun-loving. To the community, he was known as a man to be trusted—a knowledgeable, hard-working individual who made principled decisions.
Dick is survived by his wife; Lynn Magnuson of the home, three sons; David Magnuson and his wife Heather of North Las Vegas, Nevada, Jacob Magnuson of Springfield, Missouri, Gabriel Magnuson of Springfield, Missouri, his father and stepmother; Richard Magnuson, Sr. and his wife Ann of Petal, Mississippi, his mother and stepfather; Gladys Paradis and her husband Art of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, two sisters; Linell of Manila, Philippines, Karen Brown of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, two brothers; James Magnuson and his wife Shirley of Hot Coffee, Mississippi, Jeff Magnuson and his wife Rhonda of Willard, Missouri, two grandchildren; Anders and Aren Magnuson.
A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00pm on Thursday evening, October 13, 2011 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, October, 14, 2011 at the Butler Funeral Home with Ray Leininger officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri. Pallbearers will be David Magnuson, Jacob Magnuson, Gabriel Magnuson, Jeff Magnuson, James Magnuson, Roy Anderson, Andy Magnuson and Tom Wiznerowicz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Terry Rountree, Tom Wilson, Wayne Hill, Jody Breazeale, Paul Coffey and Matt Kastner.
