Richard Wayne Wilson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Richard Wayne Wilson, son of Glen Duane. and Alice B. Ely Wilson, was born August 17, 1944, in Otter Lake, Michigan. He departed this life Sunday, October 6, 2013, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-nine years, one month, and nineteen days.
On March 12, 1975, he was united in marriage to Ruby Lee Cravens, and they shared the last thirty-eight years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Agnes Louella Gardner; two great-grandchildren, Ashton Frank and Landon Leroy Sufficool; and a brother, John Homer Gardner, Jr.
Richard is survived by his wife, Ruby, of the home; a daughter, Penny Sue Henderson, and her husband, Douglas E., of Camdenton, Missouri; two granddaughters. Mary Alice Fletcher-Stoe, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Tammy L. Sufficool, and her husband, Tyler A., of Richland, Missouri; a great-grandchild, Shailynn Marie Foster, of Lebanon, Missouri; two brothers, Glen D. Wilson, Jr and George Wilson, both of Flint, Michigan; a sister, Judy Johnson, of Flint, Michigan; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Michigan, and continued to live there for several years before moving to Missouri. The family then lived in Florida for awhile before returning to Missouri. Throughout the years, Richard worked as a handyman doing all kinds of projects for people, and also worked at training and caring for horses.
Richard followed the Pentecostal faith throughout his life, and enjoyed listening to gospel music.
In his spare time he liked doing wood working projects and watching movies. He had a love for animals and particularly his pet Chihuahua, “Precious Nicole”. His family was very dear to him and he especially enjoyed his granddaughters and great-grandchild.
Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
A memorial has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home. Friends may call at their convenience.
