Rickey McCormack's Obituary
Rickey Joe McCormack, son of John Francis and Myrtle Lenore (Cantrell) McCormack was born November 13, 1959 in Mansfield, Missouri. He departed this life and entered the Arms of Jesus, Saturday, January 31, 2009 in his home in Seymour, Missouri, at the age of forty-nine.
On July 14, 2007, Rick was united in marriage to the love of his life, Carol Ann Philpott.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Lenore McCormack.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carol of the home; two step-sons, Jason Smythe and his wife, Meagan, of Seymour, Missouri, and Travis Smythe, of the home; One sister, Janice McCormack, of Seymour, Missouri; two brothers, Jerry McCormack and his wife, Arlene, and Roger McCormack and his wife, Doylita, all of Seymour, Missouri; seven nieces, whom he treasured, Leann, Ashley, Laura, Jackie, Lisa, Kathy, and Glenda; his parents-in-law, James and Judy Philpott, of Hartville, Missouri, and Linda and David Masner, of Marshfield, Missouri; several other relatives; as well as a host of very dear friends.
Rick had a great love for dogs, and he loved life and enjoyed his family and friends. He spoke often of his childhood and how much he cherished his parents. He was a faithful husband, caring step-dad, loyal brother, exceptional uncle, and was a true friend.
He had many jobs throughout his life, from detailing cars, the packing house, Hutchens Steel Processors, driving an eighteen wheeler, and his last position with the Webster County Road and Bridge Department.
Rick came to know Jesus as his personal Lord and friend on April 26, 2005 and enjoyed a close and faithful relationship with Christ to the end. He often spoke to Carol about what Heaven must be like and all the great times he’d get to have with his parents when he got there.
Rick was an incredible man and a devoted Christian, and his wish in life was for all his family and friends to meet him again someday to share his joy of Heaven.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009 in the First Baptist Church of Seymour. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery, North of Seymour. Visitation will be from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour.
