Rickie L. Hitch (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Rickie Lewis Hitch, son of Sylven Lewis and Enola L. Janes Hitch, was born April 14, 1951, in Shelbyville, Indiana. He departed this life Saturday, June 14, 2014, in the Cancer Treatment Center, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at the age of sixty-three years, and two months.
On October 25, 2013, he was united in marriage to Doris Ann Siegel Rhodenizer, and they shared the last seven months.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Erin.
Rickie is survived by his wife, Doris, of the home; a granddaughter, Taylor, of Chicago, Illinois; his step-father, Harold Farrel, of the State of Kentucky; a sister, Del Martin, of Waynesville, Missouri; a number of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was born in Indiana and was raised in Chicago, Illinois, where he attended Community High School. He entered the United States Marine Corps as a young man, and served his country faithfully from July 31, 1969, until November 6, 1972, during the Vietnam War. After being honorably discharged from the Marines, he returned to Chicago, where he worked as a maintenance mechanic for the Ford Motor Company for several years. He then moved to St. Robert, Missouri before making his home in Lebanon. He was employed in the maintenance department at Tracker Marine for fourteen years, retiring in February of 2014.
In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles. He loved animals and was very fond of his dogs.
Rickie was a loving husband, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, nephew, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the memories he made for them during his lifetime.
