Ricky Dean Snook (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Ricky Dean Snook, son of Burl and Betty Beard Snook, was born November 16, 1960, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Sunday, June 12, 2016, in his home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-five years, six months, and twenty-six days.
On November 16, 2014, he was united in marriage to Carla Sue Boatright, and they shared the last eighteen months. Rick lovingly welcomed Carla’s three children into his life and into their home.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Virgil and Flossie Beard; and his paternal grandparents, Dean and Frances Snook.
Rick is survived by his wife, Carla, of the home; a daughter, Courtney Snook, of Lebanon, Missouri; a step-daughter, Bethany Oshel, and her husband, Brad, of Versailles, Missouri; two step-sons, Daniel Gerlt, and his wife, Stephanie, of Springfield, Missouri, and Lucus Gerlt, of Versailles, Missouri; three grandchildren, Alli and Conner McKnight, and Maggie Oshel; his parents, Burl and Betty Snook, of Lebanon, Missouri; a brother, Brent Snook, and his wife, Amy, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Jackie Shumate, and her husband, Bill, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was born and raised in Lebanon, and graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1979. He then owned and operated a lawn service for a few years before becoming the manager of Sand Springs Resort at Bennett Spring. For the last eight years he was employed as a salesman for the Lindsay Chrysler Dodge Jeep Dealership at St. Robert, Missouri.
Rick had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Community Baptist Church.
In his spare time he enjoyed boating, fishing, traveling, and following the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Team. He also liked barbequing and his favorite item on the grill was steak. He enjoyed spending time with his family and liked getting the family together for barbeques and other special occasions. He had a love for animals and was especially fond of his dog “Benji”. He had a good heart, was always the life of the party and was known for his distinctive laugh.
Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Memorial donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital may be made through the funeral home.
