Rilda May Kelso (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Rilda May Kelso, daughter of John and Fannie McVey Moss, was born April 10,1927, in Oxford, Arkansas. She departed this life Thursday, December 18, 2014, in Pleasant Valley Manor, in Liberty, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, eight months, and eight days. On June 5,1949, she was united in marriage to Junior Kelso, and this union was blessed with three daughters and one son. She was Preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Junior, on March 20,2005; a son, Kelly Ray Kelso; a grandson, Justin Griffin. Rilda is survived by three daughters, Judy Griffin, and her husband, Jim, of Eldridge, Missouri, Mary Kinney, and her husband, Richard, of Macks Creek, Missouri, and Jenny Frost, and her husband, Mark, of Parkville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Clinton Griffin, Mary Ann Griffin, and her fiancé, Scott McDonald, Jesse Kinney, Kyle Kinney, and his wife, Tasia, and Tyson Frost, and his wife, Kristen; a sister-in-law, Ramona Russell, of Hampton, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in Oxford, Arkansas and graduated from Oxford High School. She then made her home in Springfield, Missouri. While taking a walk in the Macks Creek community she met Junior, and soon after they were married. They made their home in Macks Creek until 1964, and began raising their family. They then moved to Lebanon, and Rilda was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, while Junior worked at Central Bank. Rilda professed her faith in Christ early in her life and was a longtime member of First Baptist Church. Through the years, Rilda was actively involved in various areas of church work. She and Junior were members of the Levi's and Laces Square Dance Club and enjoyed dancing. She and Junior had travelled extensively and for many years grew a large garden, from which Rilda canned many of their homegrown vegetables. Her faith and her family were always at the Center of her life. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Rilda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty-seven years.
