Riley Casebolt (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Riley Casebolt, 76, went to be with his Lord Monday morning, at his home in Fair Play. He was born July 5, 1937 in Knott County, Kentucky, the son of McKinley and Alma (Hayes) Casebolt. He was one of 17 children born to his parents.
Riley joined the Air Force shortly after his 18th birthday. He spent 15 months in Korea and then was sent to the 697th Squadron Radar Unit in Fordland, MO. within days of his arriving in Missouri, he met his future wife, Linda White at a movie theater in Springfield. Linda and Riley were married in Miami, OK, June 8, 1958. After Leaving the Air Force, Riley was employed with Paul Mueller Co, Springfield, MO for 9 years. In 1969 Riley and Linda moved their family to Waynesville, OH, and he worked for Delco-Moraine until he was injured on the job. His back injury forced him to retire at the age of 39. Riley and Linda always wanted to live on a small farm. They found 36 acres at Fair Play, MO, and then worked 35 years building their dream home.
On Easter Sunday, 1960, Riley and Linda were attending High Street Baptist Church, when the Sunday School teacher, Alden Jaynes, offered a time for people to come forward for salvation. Riley accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He considered Easter Sunday as his spiritual birthday. He celebrated 54 years as a Christian this past Easter. Riley had been a faithful member for over 20 years at Berean Baptist Church, in Bolivar, MO. He loved his church family and he was committed to helping the missionaries sent out by the church.
Riley is survived by his wife, Linda, of the home; two sons, Richard and wife, Kelly, of Holbrook, NY, Brian and wife, Christy, of Brookfield, MO; grandchildren, Melissa Logan, of Quincy, IL, Chad Predmore, of Aurora, IL, Jordan Green, of Liberty, MO, Joshua Casebolt and Michael Casebolt, of Brookfield, MO; six great-grandchildren; four sisters, Janice Combs, of La Follette, TN, Joyce Amburgey, of Waynesville, OH, Linda Amburgery and Deborah Combs, of Hindman, KY; four brothers, Mac Casebolt, of Beavercreek, OH, Ed Casebolt, of Kentucky, Chad Casebolt, of Mousie, KY, Shane Casebolt, of London, KY; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
