Robert "Bob" James Christiansen (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Robert “Bob” James Christiansen, son of Clark and Rose Lillian Nelson Christiansen, was born August 5, 1937 in Onona, Iowa. He passed away in his home Monday, July 20, 2026 in Lebanon, Missouri. He was eighty-eight years, eleven months and fifteen days of age.
When Bob was nine years old, he moved with his family to Lebanon, Missouri. He attended Bolles School until the eighth grade. When he was nine years old, he met Edna Rogers, who would one day be his wife. They were united in marriage in Wichita, Kansas on July 12, 1955 and were the proud parents of two children, Susan and Sam. They celebrated sixty-eight years of making wonderful memories together before she passed away.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Rose Christiansen; his beloved wife, Edna Mae (Rogers) Christiansen, on October 1, 2023; and one grandson, Patrick Christiansen.
He is survived by his two children, Susan Duncan (Richard) and Sam
Christiansen (Curee); four grandchildren, Ben Jenny, Bobby and Seth; and six great-grandchildren, Devin, Rory, Ryker, Lillian, Kinslee and Kayleigh; and other relatives and friends.
Bob joined the United States Army when he was seventeen. He and Edna spent several years living on and around Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Bob was part of the 82nd Airborne and 26 Jump Airborne and proudly served in the Army for three years. They later returned to Lebanon, where they spent the rest of their lives.
Bob worked for many years as a cab driver at Fort Leonard Wood before building a long career in the aluminum boat manufacturing industry in Lebanon. He was employed at Appleby Boats, Landau Boats, and Tracker Marine, where he spent the final 20 years of his career, retiring as Production Manager.
Bob accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized by Pastor Allen Reeves in a horse trough. He loved God and was ready to spend eternity in Heaven.
He enjoyed playing the guitar and built beautiful bird houses.
Bob cherished time with his family, telling stories, and teasing the little ones. He was known as a wonderful storyteller. In his later years, he found great companionship and support with his “breakfast club” friends at McDonald’s, especially following the passing of his wife.
He lived a life well lived and leaves behind a lasting legacy with all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 24, 2026 at 11 a.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
A memorial to Community Baptist Church has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
