Robert "Bob" Moore (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Robert A. “Bob’’ Moore, 70, of Lebanon, died Saturday morning, Sept. 27, 2014, at his home near Lebanon.
He was born on May 25, 1944, in St. Louis, Mo. to Thomas and Pearl Anderson Moore.
On Oct. 23, 1965, he married Ada Martley, who preceded him in death on Feb. 24, 2001.
On May 30, 2010, he married Nancy Lee (Bretz) Ballhagen.
He also was preceded in death by his parents.
He attended Lebanon High School, and then entered the United States Army in 1963. He served his country faithfully until being honorably discharged in 1965. He and Ada made their home in the Kansas City, Mo. area, and lovingly began raising their children. He had worked as a truck driver for several years, and then owned a transport company for some time. Bob and Ada returned to the Lebanon area in the 1970s and Bob worked in used car sales. Eventually, he owned and operated Hall-Moore Stuff, an antique store in Lebanon. After he and Nancy were married, they made their home in the Lebanon area.
He was a member and past officer of the Lebanon Elks Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of the home; a son, Tim Moore of Overland Park, Kan.; two daughters, Judy Moore-Butler of Lawrence, Kan., and Jeanette Moore Schmeltz, of Kansas City, Mo.; two stepsons, Mitchell Ballhagen and his wife, Robin, and Richard Ballhagen and his wife, Tabitha, all of Lebanon; three grandchildren, Shannon Butler, of Lawrence, Kan., Amanda Sinclair and her husband, David, of Carbondale, Kan.; and Kayla Ballhagen, of Lebanon, also four great-grandchildren, Lukas, Nicklas, Thomas, and Ethan Sinclair.
A Celebration of Life Service for Robert A. “Bob’’ Moore will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at the Lebanon Elks Lodge, under the care of direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon.
Memorial donations to the Lebanon Elks Lodge or Mercy Hospice may be made through the funeral home.
