Robert "Bob" Lee Pierce (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Robert (Bob) Lee Pierce was born February 13, 1937, to Hubert and Lela (Franklin) Pierce. He departed this world on January 10, 2023. He was 85 years old.
Bob graduated from Windyville High School in 1955. He was inducted into the Army in June 1960. He Served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in June 1962. Bob was saved in 1966. That same year he became a lifelong member of Cedar Ridge Church. He served as Sunday School Attendant from 1968-1972. He also served on the Cemetery Committee for over 40 years. He spent his life farming, selling farm equipment, and going to Sale Barns. He attended Auctioneer school in the late 70’S. He loved buying, selling, and trading. He had a great love for Sale barns and the people he met there. Bob loved little kids and was always giving them gum or whatever change he had in his pocket. He was united in marriage to Patricia (Scurlock) Elia in November 1982. They were married 40 Years at his passing. He raised five kids and was very proud of each one of them. He loved to visit and was always excited at getting company.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Lela Pierce; two brothers, Frank and his wife Opal Pierce, and Billy Pierce; one brother-in-law, Robert Long; one niece, Becky Nicks; and one granddaughter, Julia Stidham. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son Kevin and wife, Jill Pierce; daughter, Dawn Pierce; son, Rhett Elia; son, Travis and his wife, Kelly Pierce; son, Logan and his wife, Riley Pierce; his grandchildren, Paige and her husband, Wesley Mcbee, Linzi and her husband, Gene Shriner, Cheyanne and her husband, Dustin Bennett, Dillon Stidham, Ariel Elia, Taryn Elia, Speed Ford, Lakin and her husband, Tyler Janke, Sara and her husband, Keith Lipsey, and Johnny Scott; his great-grandchildren, Tae’Ania, Tae’Von, Nevaeh, Khloee, Lyric, Paisley, Darcie, Bailey, Lenora, Della, Everly, Noah, and Emma; one sister, Betty Long; and a lot of nieces and nephews. Bob lived a full life and leaves behind many family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2023 in the Cedar Ridge Church with Pastor Shane Shockley officiating. Escorts will be Grege Cox, John Long, Dan Pierce, Dillon Stidham, Wesley McBee, and Tae’Von Harris. Honorary escorts will be Larry Glor, Lyle Caselman, Speed Ford, Bob Franklin, Gene Shriner, and Dusty Bennett. Interment will be in the Cedar Ridge Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cedar Ridge Cemetery Fund.
