Robert "Bob" D. Wilson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Robert “Bob” Dean Wilson, son of Harry Albert and Mabel Kaufman Wilson, was born June 28, 1932, in Lathrop, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, March 16, 2017, in the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, in Columbia, Missouri, at the age of eighty-four years, eight months, and eighteen days.
On July 30, 1993, he was united in marriage to Lenora “Sue” Moeller, and they shared the last twenty-three years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Bill, Dale, Kenneth, and Keith; and three sisters, Bonnie, Clyta, and Dorothy.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sue, of the home; three sons, Brett Wilson, and his wife, Kathy, of Greeley, Colorado; Jerry Wilson, and his wife, Jill, of Denver, Colorado; and Brent Wilson, of McKinney, Texas; a step-daughter, Melissa Bates, and her husband, Joe, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a step-son, Greg Moeller, and his wife, Faith, of Springfield, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Tim Wilson, and his wife, Lela, Jenna Rice, and her husband, Brad, Matthew Wilson, Hannah Brown, and her husband Doug, Noah Wilson, Kate, Tucker, and Nolan Moeller, Katy and Tyler Bates; one great-granddaughter, Ainsley Kathleen Rice; a brother, Junior Wilson, of the State of South Carolina; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Bob was raised in the Lathrop Missouri area and graduated from Lathrop High School. He entered the military as a young man and served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force. After being discharged from the Air Force he then made his home in Colorado for a time working construction and raised horses for several years before moving near Niangua Missouri where he owned and operated a farm raising various kinds of sheep and where he also trained and competed in cutting horse shows. Bob and Sue made their home near Lebanon for the past several years.
Faith was central in Bob’s life as he was a charter member of the Laclede Cowboy Church where he attended as long as his health allowed.
Spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and especially his great granddaughter was the light of his life.
Bob was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, the memories he made for his family will be cherished for many years to come and he will be fondly missed and greatly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
