Robert G. Connett (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Robert Gardiner Connett, son of Fred Arthur and Eula Mae Ewing Connett, was born May 30, 1936, in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Wednesday, October 26, 2022, in his home, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, four months, and twenty-six days.
On August 28, 1954, in Fordland, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Janie Kathleen Hargis, and to this union one daughter and one son were born.
He was preceded by his parents, a sister, Farris Mae Goode and her Husband George.
Robert is survived by his loving wife of sixty-eight years, Kathleen, of the home; a daughter, Colleen Connett, and her husband, Joe Zajac, of Mesa, Arizona; a son, Robert Connett, of Springfield, Missouri; two grandsons, Matthew Shannon, and his wife, Christina, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Erik Connett, of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren, Harley, Gabriella, Isabella, Tucker, and Jevin; a nephew, Denny Goode, of Springfield, Missouri; a great-niece, Emmalea Perryman, of Nixa, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was raised in the Fordland community and graduated from Fordland High School. He began driving a milk truck at the age of thirteen and continued in the dairy industry for forty-five years. He retired from Mid-America Dairy in April of 1999. He was a member of the Teamsters AFLCIO Local # 245. He and Kathleen made their home in Springfield for many years.
Robert was a member of the Fordland United Methodist Church for fourteen years.
In his spare time, he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities included quail hunting, fishing, and shooting. He and Kathleen liked to travel and had made many memorable trips. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR and particularly Tony Stewart. His family was very important to him, and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great-uncle and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made with them during his lifetime.
Graveside services for Robert G. Connett will be Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2022 at Fordland Cemetery in Fordland Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
