Robert Dale Downs (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Robert Downs was born August 28, 1941to Tom Downs and Edith Anderson Downs in Cannelton, Indiana. He passed away in his home Wednesday, November 29, 2023. At the time of his passing, he was eighty-two years, three months and one day of age.
Robert grew up in Indiana and following his high school graduation, he joined the United States Air Force where he proudly served for over twenty years. He was a very patriotic man and loved his country very much.
Following his time with the Air Force, he made his home in California and was employed with the United States Postal Service for eight years. After his time with the Postal Service, he was employed with the Conservation Department for a few years.
In 1991, he moved to Missouri and met Patricia A. King. They were married October 11, 1997 and made their home in Falcon, Missouri. She survives him.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Vernon, George and Art.
In his spare time, Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid hunter and while living in California, he hunted in Colorado, Alaska and California. He greatly enjoyed being outside and taking in the beautiful scenery the areas had to offer.
He was a very neat person and liked having “everything in its place and a place for everything”. He was fond of dogs, especially Beagles.
Robert will be remembered for his outstanding service to his country. His confidence, conviction, and loyalty will be forever etched on the lives of those he touched.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 2 p.m.at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.
