Robert Fitts' Obituary
Robert ?Bob? William Fitts, son of William and Josephine Murphy Fitts, was born April 12, 1910, near Eldridge, Missouri. He departed this life Friday, September 2, 2011, in Christian Health Care South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of one hundred one years, four months, and twenty days.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Beulah Case Fitts; his second wife, Helen Louise Alexander Fitts; two daughters, Clara Stamps, and Velma Moore; and a son, Richard Fitts.
Bob is survived by a son, Jesse Fitts, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren including, Carla Dalton, of Lebanon, Missouri, Andrea Mobley, of St. Louis, Missouri, Alesha Dalton, of St. Charles, Missouri, William Dalton, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Donald Mayberry, of Springfield, Missouri, Lisa Robinson, of the State of South Carolina, Michelle Kuberus, of the State of California, Robert Stamps, of the State of Florida, and Jessie Stamps, of the State of Arizona; several nieces and nephews including, Carmen Fitts, of Lebanon, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
He lived his entire life in the Laclede County area, and most of the time made his home in Lebanon, Missouri. He worked as a master mechanic for Harry Hooker Motors, Alvin Green Motor Company, and then later for Lance Cromer Motors.
Bob had professed his faith in Christ and was a longtime member of the Wood Street Baptist Church in Lebanon.
In his one hundred plus years, he observed a great growth and development in the Lebanon community. He enjoyed visiting and talking with people and never met a stranger. He took good care of his family and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Bob was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that he will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
