I was his secretary at the FLW Housing Office during the late 1980's. He was a very nice gentleman! He loved his ACT II popcorn. I remember he brought in the turkey for Thanksgiving and we had to use pliers to take out the feathers. He will be missed! Jane Hoelscher

Bob and I were together 2 hours a day, 5 days a week for I don't know how many thousand miles (10 years?) carpooling to Fort Leonard Wood. We had some good conversations but mostly one slept while the other drove. One time though, I woke up to thrashing and bumping sounds. We were in the ditch along I-44 taking out some weeds and a couple of reflective markers because we were both asleep for those few seconds. Without slowing down Bob got back on the road and we went home. I don't think either of us said anything for a few minutes but we were very wide awake for the rest of the trip. Bob was a good man and cared very deeply for his family and friends.
