Robert L. Harkness (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Robert Lee "Bob" Harkness, Sr. entered eternal rest on November 29, 2024 at his home in Lebanon, MO, surrounded by his loving family.
Bob was born in 1932, in Scott County, KS to Charles Otis Harkness and Emma Marie Bennett. He grew up in Bonaparte, IA. He served his country in Korea and worked on the Surveyor Mission to the Moon. Bob married Susan Rohrbough in 1961. Bob began his Boy Scout journey in 1959 as a Scoutmaster giving much of his time in various capacities to the Scouts. Bob was recognized for his 50-year commitment to the Boy Scouts in 2023. He gave to the community in many ways, being a member of the first United Methodist Church in Lebanon for 50 years. Bob gave willingly of his time to anyone who needed it. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Susan, their children, Lee Harkness, Jr. and Laura Harkness Graham. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Jean Householder and his grandchildren, Christina, Lindsay, and Oliver. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brittaney.
