He departed this life Sunday, January 17, 2010, in Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, in Jefferson City, Missouri, at the age of fifty-eight years, three months, and nine days. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Kenneth Nathanel Hufford. Robert is survived by his wife, Barbara L. (Stoddard) Hufford, of Rockford, Michigan; his parents, Lewis and Shirley Hufford, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Nancy Danner, and her husband, Phil, of Springfield, Missouri; two nephews, Jeffrey Blue, and his wife, Christi, and Joe Blue, and his wife, Ginger; a niece, Jill Willoughby, and her husband, A.J.; fourteen great-nieces and great-nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was raised in the Eldridge, Missouri community, and graduated eighth grade at Alexander School. He then moved with his family to Siloam Springs, Arkansas. Robert entered the United States Navy as a young man, and served his country faithfully, remaining stateside during his tours of duty. In 1990, he returned to the Lebanon and Eldridge area, and worked as a driver for many of the used car dealers in the area. Robert was raised in the Free Methodist faith, and was always willing to share what he had with others. He especially enjoyed bringing gifts to people and spending time with his family. He was a man who valued his privacy and kept to himself a lot of the time. He loved almost everything about John Wayne and enjoyed collecting memorabilia and particularly his movies. Robert was a loving husband, son, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the memories he made for them throughout the years. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday January 22, 2010 at the Mt. Rose Chapel. Burial will be in the Veterans' Park in Mt. Rose Memorial Park under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral home Lebanon, Missouri. Return to top
