After receiving his honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to Mexico, Missouri, where he co-owned the Saddlehorse Café for several years. Later, he and Libby made their home in O’Fallon, Missouri, and lovingly raised their sons. Robert worked as a plumber in the St. Louis area for the next twenty years. He and Libby eventually retired to the Lebanon, Missouri area, and enjoyed being close to Bennett Spring State Park. Robert was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Lebanon, and was particularly involved in the Fishermen’s Chapel at Bennett Spring. He was an organized person who liked things neat, well cared for, and orderly. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activity was trout fishing. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.
