Robert Lewis' Obituary
Robert James “Bob” Lewis, son of Homer Jack and Daisy Marie Little Lewis, was born November 23, 1940, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, March 7, 2009, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-eight years, three months, and fourteen days. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John “J.C.”, Clifford, and Ricky Lewis; and a sister, Betty Joe Hirzel. Bob is survived by a special nephew, Mike Lewis, and his wife, Martha, of Long Lane, Missouri, and their three children, Andy Lewis, and his wife, Amanda, and their son, Braden, of Topeka, Kansas, Brandon Lewis, and his wife, Darcy, of Buffalo, Missouri, and Casi Lewis, of Long Lane, Missouri; two brothers, Jack Lewis, and his wife, Wilma, of Long Lane, Missouri, and Donald Lewis; four sisters, Helen Duke, and her husband, Bob, of Sanford, Florida, Mary Officer, and her husband, Dale, of Lebanon, Missouri, Pat Jones, and her husband, Ron, of Grovespring, Missouri, and Teresa Petracek, and her husband, Vince, of St. Louis, Missouri; a number of other nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He lived most of his life in the Lebanon area and attended the School for the Blind in St. Louis, Missouri, when he was a child. In his younger days he volunteered his time working for the Salvation Army. For several years he made his home with Mike and Martha and their family, and enjoyed playing with and teasing the children. He greatly liked sitting outdoors and playing with the dogs. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. Bob was a loving brother and uncle and was a kind and caring friend. We celebrate his life and will remember him for his gentleness and his special abilities. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday March 11, 2009 at the Roper Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at their conveniece under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established to Regional Hospice.
