Robert Mallard (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Robert Marion Mallard was born on March 8, 1933 in Elkland, MO to Earl and Chloe (Ray) Mallard. Bob passed on December 8, 2018 in Buffalo, MO.
Bob was preceded by his parents. He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Beverly Kay Pote; one brother, Quinton Mallard; and one sister, Effie Lou Matthews, all who passed away in the last five months.
Bob married Glennys Barb in 1951 and they had five children; Beverly Kay Pote, Lynn Mallard, Delvin Mallard, Darcy (Gary) Phares, and Shirley Mallard. Bob and Mary Alice Matney married in 1979 and he welcomed her children; Sue (Leo) Nakamura, Richard Matney, Margaret (Mark) Craig, and Gary (Teri) Matney. Together they have 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Bob was well known in Buffalo and was very active in the First Christian Church. He was a founding member of the Habitat for Humanity branch in Dallas County.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Buffalo with Pastor Tim Case and Pastor Jennifer Long officiating. Escorts will be Steve Mallard, Roger Matthew, Dan Sayre, Greg Maynard, Terry Howe, and Bill Ray. Honorary escorts will be Doug Gardner, James Hyatt, and the late Buster Davis. Interment will be in the Thorpe Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Church.
