Robert McCain's Obituary
Robert Clarence McCain, son of Vaughn F. and Florence Scroggins Lewis, was born June 24, 1936, in El Reno, Oklahoma. He departed this life Monday, April 27, 2009, in Lake Regional Hospital at the age of seventy-two years, ten months and three days. He was united in marriage to Helen Dwyer and to this union five children were born. He later married Mildred McCain and she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his mother. Survivors include his father, Vaughn F. Lewis of Linn Creek, Missouri; eight children, Vaughn McCain and partner Sandy of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, Debra McCain of Camdenton, Missouri, Robert McCain and wife Peggy of San Luis Obispo, California, Patrick McCain of St. Louis, Missouri, Cynthia McCain of Snohomish, Washington, Ricky Earnest of St. Louis, Missouri, Jeff Earnest and wife Jenny of O’Fallon, Missouri, and Kathy Hummelson and husband Ron of O’Fallon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jacob McCain, Ryan McCain, Katie McCain, Nick Bruck, Cliff Bruck and Nalani McCain Burke; two great-granddaughters, Mia McCain and Isabelle Bruck; and many friends He was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and spent a few years as a youngster in Camdenton. He lived most of his life in the St. Louis and O’Fallon area where he worked as a Gas Technician for Laclede Gas in St. Louis. He retired to Lake of the Ozarks in 1999. He was baptized into the Catholic Church and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in St. Paul, Missouri. While in the lake area, he attended The Shrine of St. Patrick and St. Anthony Catholic Church. In his spare time he was an avid fisherman. He was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Rams fan. A visitation will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday May 2, 2009 at the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home Camdenton,Missouri. Return to top
