Robert Ness (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Robert (Bob) Charles Ness, age 84, passed away Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Christian Health Care South in Lebanon, Missouri, surrounded by family.
Bob was born on July 17, 1926, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, to Roy and Lillian (Ausboe) Ness. He was the second child born to them. In 1936, the family moved to International Falls, Minnesota.
He graduated from Falls High School in 1944. On January 11, 1945, he began serving in the United States Army Air Corps and was stationed with the occupation force in Germany for 14 months during World War II. He was honorably discharged on August 30, 1946. Bob attended the University of Minnesota where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Accounting. He worked for Boise Cascade. He was united in marriage to Teresa Lovisa on September 16, 1950. He retired from Boise in 1985, after 30 years of employment. In 2007, Bob and Teresa moved to Lebanon, Missouri.
Bob was an avid golfer and bridge player and loved dancing. He enjoyed spending time on Rainy Lake boating and fishing. He and Teresa enjoyed retirement and traveled to Arizona and Texas in the winters. He had a very outgoing personality and always had a smile on his face. He was a loving husband and father and his family was very important to him. His grandchildren were the joy of his life. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he made for his family and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lillian Ness.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa, of Lebanon, sons, Mark (Nancy) of Richland, Washington and Paul (Natalie) of Roach, Missouri; three grandchildren, Laura, Brittany, and Thomas; two sisters, Eileen Bodnar and Shirley Lyons, both of Napa, California; three sisters-in-law, Adele Fichuk, of Fort Frances, Ontario, Anita McIntosh, of International Falls, Minnesota, and Chris Lowe, of Fort Frances, Ontario; several nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends.
