Robert Polly's Obituary
Robert Rex Polly, lifetime resident of Halfway, Missouri, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 20 at 1:00 p.m. in the wooded field north of his home. He was 53. Robert was born the son of Dean Rexford Polly and Willa Mae (Matthews) Polly on October 10th, 1956 and lived one year in Huron, Missouri before moving to the Halfway community. Bob, as he preferred to be called, was a master builder in the Polk County area and had been for many years, specializing in custom homes. He also maintained a herd of cows on the family farm. Bob loved the out-of-doors, farming, hunting, gardening, exploring, in fact, anything to do with nature. He was united in marriage to Donna J. Campbell on September 17th, 1999 and to that union was born a son Gabriel Robert, 8, of the home, both of whom survive him. Two daughters from a previous marriage to Jody (Brand) Polly also survive him, Rebekah Polly of Springfield, MO, and Rachel Polly of Glendale, AZ, along with his mother Willa Mae Polly of Halfway, MO, sister Deanna Polly-Faulkner (Doug Faulkner) of Wichita, KS, Stepchildren Matt Puckett of Spring Hill, TN, Josh Puckett of Clearwater, Florida, Cassandra Wiemann of O'Fallon, MO, Erin Puckett of Cincinatti, Oh, and five step-grandchildren, one nephew, three aunts, several cousins, and many, many friends. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Ron & Lou Kemp officiating. Burial will follow in Reed Cemetery south of Halfway. Visitation will be held Friday October 23rd from 5-7 p.m. at the Butler Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ed Redd, Robert Redd, Dan Roderick, Wayne Covert, Bob Bricker, Roger Buffington, Phil Schliefer, and Mike Schliefer. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob Polly's honor to the Scholarship Fund for Gabriel Polly in care of Mid-Missouri Bank, 2275 S. Springfield Avenue, Bolivar, MO. 65613.
