Robert Pruitt's Obituary
Robert Glenn Pruitt, son of Robert B. and Goldie A. Trower Pruitt, was born November 13, 1937, near Richland, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, November 6, 2006. in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty-eight years, eleven months, and twenty-three days. On April 12, 1958, he was united in marriage to Edna Geraldine Scott, and to this union three sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sons, James Robert and Scott Allen Pruitt. Robert is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Geraldine, of the home; a son, Stanley Wayne Pruitt, and his wife, Nevelyn, of Dyersburg, Tennessee; two grandsons, Robert Wayne and Scott Pruitt, both of Dyersburg, Tennessee; a brother, Lloyd Pruitt, and his wife, Kathryn, of Lebanon, Missouri; three sisters, Mabel Addison, and her husband, Henry, of Sedalia, Missouri, Ruby Harper, of Neosho, Missouri, and Laura Kirby, of Springfield, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Willard Scott, and his wife, Helen, Springfield, Missouri, and Nelson Scott, and his wife, Fran, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Richland, Missouri area and graduated from Stoutland High School. After he and Geraldine were married, they made their home in the Lebanon, Missouri area. For several years, he worked as a route salesman and then drove a school bus for the Lebanon R-III Public Schools for a few years. His student passengers were very dear to him and he took special care of them. Robert made his profession of faith early in his life, and was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. He particularly enjoyed working with the youth in his church. His work was a major part of his life and in his free time he enjoyed camping. His family was very important to him and he was especially close to his grandsons. Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 9, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Lebanon. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Richland. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 7 - 8:30 under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to the Shriners Hospital may be made through the funeral home.
