Robert R. Richardson (Hartville)'s Obituary
Robert Rhyne Richardson, son of Charles C. and Effie Hillsman Richardson, was born June 12, 1924 in Tiffin, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, August 12, 2013 in his home, Norwood, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years and two months.
On March 28, 1952, Robert was united in marriage to Doris Maye Calhoun and to this union six children were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings Claire, Raymond, Warren, Elizabeth, Clinton, James, Nellie, Mae, and Walter.
Robert is survived by his wife, Doris, of the home; his children, Roger Richardson and wife Pam of Springfield, Missouri, Gary Richardson of Mountain Grove, Missouri, Beth Sartor and her husband Don of Norwood, Missouri, Sandy Slate of Mansfield, Missouri, Stanley Richardson and wife Patricia of Norwood, Missouri, and Patricia Layman of Norwood, Missouri; grandchildren, Leslie Salley, Ryan Richardson, Chad Richardson, Ronnie Davault, Jeff Davault, Donnie Slate, Becky LaFavour, Adam Richardson, and Madison Layman; twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, John Richardson and wife Shirley of Wisconsin; a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Robert spent his younger years in the Eldorado Springs, Missouri area. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was on Omaha Beach during the Invasion of Normandy. He returned home from the war and shortly after he and Doris were married.
Robert was a hard worker, and operated a dairy farm for most of his life.
He had accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at an early age.
Robert was a member of the VFW Post #3770 in Mountain Grove, Missouri and the Clarence King Post #128 of the American Legion in Mansfield, Missouri.
In his spare time, Robert enjoyed hunting deer and coon and was an avid quail hunter in his younger years.
Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and many accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many friends.
Memorial contributions to Cerebral Palsy in honor of granddaughter, Madison, may be left at the funeral home.
