Robert Smith's Obituary
Robert Ross Smith, son of Elmer and Kathleen Williams Smith, was born, October 31, 1947, in Vallejo, California. He departed this life, Thursday, January 13, 2011, in his home, Camdenton, Missouri at the age of sixty-three years. On August 5, 1988, he was united in marriage to Patricia Gail Lopez. Together they shared the past twenty-two years of marriage. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Linda Kay Smith; and a step-son, Shane Shelley. Survivors include his wife, Tish Smith of Camdenton, Missouri; a daughter, Melanie Verburg and husband John of Fresno, California; a son, Jack Smith of Bakersfield, California; a step-daughter, Carole Craig and husband Rich of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Josh, Jake, Austin and Tyler Verburg of Fresno, California, and Nick Miller of South Carolina; two step-grandchildren, Shane Craig of St. Louis, Missouri, and Sydney Craig of Ridgecrest, California; and other relatives and many friends. Robert was raised in Lemoore, California, where his friends affectionately referred to him as ?Turkey?. He was a turkey grower/owner and grew for Louis Rich and Zacky Farms for over fifty years. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending many hours working on his 1923 Model T, 1956 Chevy, and playing shuffleboard with his friends. He loved living at the Lake of the Ozarks. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he created for his family and friends.
