Robert M Towe (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Robert “Bob” Medley Towe, Jr., passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018, at Cox Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri at the age of 88. Bob was born in Olathe, Missouri on October 5, 1929, to Robert Medley Towe, Sr., and Thelma (Anderson) Towe. Bob and Jessie Opal Hull were married on May 8, 1946, and lived in Olathe throughout their marriage, except for one year in Iowa. Together they had four children: Wayne, Cheryl, Vicki, and Rick.
Bob had a dairy operation for many years and also drove a milk route. He worked at the Carnation Milk Plant in Seymour, Missouri, for years until it closed. He then became a field man for Mid-America Dairy until he retired in 1995. He was a member of the Norwood Masonic Lodge for 65 years.
Bob was saved at an early age and was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Mansfield, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his son Wayne Towe; grandson Gregory Steffens; son-in-law Bobby Blankenship; great-grandson, Brandon Pham; and three sisters, Iris Jean Childs, Margaret Towe, and Dolores Towe.
Bob is survived by Opal, his beloved wife of 72 years; two daughters, Cheryl (Tom) Steffens of Kansas City and Vicki Blankenship of Mansfield; one son, Rick (Kathy) Towe of Strafford; daughter-in-law, Nancy Towe of Rogers, Arkansas; and sister, Karen (Bob) Sanders of Springfield.
He is also survived by twelve grandchildren: Kristi Towe, Holly (Dan) Allan, Terry Towe (Cammy Le), Brenden (Dina) Steffens, Tim (Christina) Steffens, Stephanie (Blaine) Hague, Melanie (Michael) Upshaw, Ashley (Brandon) Mozley, Adam (Tami) Towe, Chelsea Towe (Matt Mayberry), Aleya (Chris) Siegismund, and Mariya (Zac) Cain; and twenty-six great-grandchildren: Sarah Towe; Mackenzie and Grant Allan; Riley Towe, Brian Le, and Bruce and Tiffany Pham; Rocco and Nino Steffens; Jeremy, Haley, and Anthony Steffens; Blaire and Blythe Hague; Jonah Clenney and Christopher Upshaw; Blake and Andrew Mozley; Riley and Alyssa Towe and Eli and Ethan Browning; Gracie and Lucas Mayberry and Xander Mayberry; and Josie Cain.
Bob enjoyed hard work, often doing the jobs of men much younger than he was. However, his greatest joy was being with family and friends. He loved holding babies and entertaining people with stories. He will be missed by many.
