Robert Wright's Obituary
Robert Lewis Wright, age 77, of Fair Play, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri after suffering heart failure. He was born September 23, 1932 in Aldrich, Missouri to Marvin Esley Wright and Thelma Lucille Courtney Wright. Robert married Retha Arlene Landreth on October 14, 1955 in Fair Play, Missouri. He was a graduate of Fair Play High School and also served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. While in the Army he served on the Military Volleyball team. He worked in the lumber business most of his life starting with Bolivar Lumber Company before his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fair Play, Missouri and a past member of the Kiwanis Club, Optimist Club, and the Fair Play School Board. He collected old gas pumps, enjoyed his cattle, farming, and the outdoors as a whole. Anytime you drove by his house he was always riding on his Gator, waving as you drove by. Robert is survived by his wife, Retha Arlene Wright of the home, two sons, Robert Lynn Wright and his wife Patricia of Aldrich, Missouri, Brent Wright and his wife Tammy of Aldrich, Missouri, a sister, Nora Lee Neill of Bolivar, Missouri, five grandchildren, Kristin Moore and her husband Chris of Bolivar, Missouri, Karla Lewis and her husband Josh of Fair Play, Missouri, David Wright of Aldrich, Missouri, Kendal and Landon Wright of Aldrich, Missouri, three great grandchildren, Cale Moore, Cierra and Aiden Lewis. Funeral services will be held at 10:00am, Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Reverend David Stunkel officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Aldrich, Missouri with Military Honors provided by the AMVETS Post #114 of Flemington, Missouri under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Sunday at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar. Pallbearers will be David Wright, Josh Lewis, Joe Neill, Mike Neill, Chris Moore and Larry Peak. Honorary Pallbearers will be Fred Lower, Donald Creed, Courtney Creed and Jody Presley. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Stroke Association, P.O.
