Roberta Atkisson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Roberta Irene Atkisson, daughter of Robert Frances Boals and Zada Irene Garner Boals, was born June 20, 1961 in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. She departed this life Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in her home.
Roberta moved with her family to Missouri when she was two years old after her father was discharged from the United States Army. Following high school, Roberta traveled the country, hitch hiking coast-to-coast. She worked for a construction company for a time in Tennessee. Her longest stop was in California. She settled there for about three years and was there during the Rodney King riots in Los Angeles in 1992. She then left California and moved back to Missouri and enjoyed being closer to her family.
Roberta loved animals. She worked with an animal rescue organization. She also was a storm chaser and enjoyed meteorology. Roberta was a quiet and private person.
She was preceded in death by her father and a brother, Robert Boals, Jr.
Roberta is survived by her mother, Zada Boals of Lebanon, Missouri; two brothers, Roger Boals and Richard Boals, both of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of aunts and uncles, two nephews and one niece.
All services will be private.
