Rodney Lee Young (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Rodney Lee Young, son of Ricky Lee Starks and Sherry Young Jones, was born May 17, 1987, in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, September 9, 2013, in his home, near Phillipsburg, Missouri, at the age of twenty-six years, three months, and twenty-two days.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Fred Jones, III; his maternal grandparents, Berry and Ruby Young; his paternal grandparents, Johnny and Mary Starks; and an uncle, Terry Young.
Rodney is survived by a daughter, IceAlyn (Rubles) Rogers, of Lebanon, Missouri; his mother, Sherry Jones, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; his father, Ricky Starks, and his wife, Jewell, of Wichita, Kansas; his step-father, Fred Jones, Jr., of Richland, Missouri; nine sisters, Raquel Dampier, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, Cherlene Williams, of Lebanon, Missouri, Latosha Jones, of the home; Anessa Relf, Ingrid Ramirez, Roselynn Hazelton, Rikki Starks, all of Wichita, Kansas, Irene Robinson, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Ashley Brown, of Springfield, Missouri; three brothers, Ricky Starks, Jr., of Wichita, Kansas, Richard Jones, of Kansas City, Kansas, and Ross Brown, of Springfield, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; several cousins; a special friend, Marc Brown; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He lived most of his life in the Lebanon area, and attended Conway High School. He had been a farm worker, and had also done some bull riding, which was one of his favorite things. He had also worked for Thornton Construction Company for several years.
Rodney had attended Harvest Tabernacle – United Pentecostal Church in Lebanon.
He was kind hearted and never met a stranger. He was down to earth and possessed a heart of gold. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his family. He had a way of always making people smile.
Rodney loved his family and his friends and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all.
A Memorial has been established and donations may be made through the funeral home.
