Roger Dale O'Dell's Obituary
Roger Dale O’Dell, son of Bobby Dale O’Dell and Geraldine Marie (Perkins) Webb, was born March 17, 1951, in Springfield, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, April 26, 2008, at St. John’s Regional Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri at the age of fifty-seven years, one month, and nine days. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Nolan Webb; his grandparents, Calva and Beulah Perkins, and Curt and Golda Blackwell; and his aunt, Imogene Keeling. Roger is survived by his mother, Geraldine Webb, of Hartville; his father and step-mother, Bobby and Donna O’Dell, of Hartville, Missouri; a sister and her husband, Tammy and Howard Carriger, of Grovespring, Missouri; a half-brother, Rodney O’Dell, of Hartville, Missouri; two half-sisters, Treva Thompkins, and her husband, Tom, and Rhonda O’Dell, all of Hartville, Missouri; his nieces and nephew, Missy and Keith Wollard, Denette and Tim Lowery, Chasity and Chad Cromer, Eric Thompkins, Carlin Thompkins, and Kirastin O’Dell; a great-niece, Alex Wollard; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. He was born in Springfield and attended Hartville Schools, where he graduated in the Class of 1969 and continued to reside in Hartville. Along with farming and raising cattle, he had worked at Marshfield Steel Plant and was co-owner of Hartville Landfill with his father, Bobby. He was a very kind and caring person and loved helping others and spending time with his friends. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing. Roger was a loving son, brother, and uncle and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 2008, in the Steele Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience.
