Roger A. Jorgesen (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Roger Alton Jorgesen, son of Howard and Aleda Severson Jorgesen, was born November 17, 1929, in Waupaca, Wisconsin. He departed this life Wednesday, August 1, 2012, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age eighty-two years, eight months, and fourteen days.
On August 31, 2001, he was united in marriage to June Frieda Krause, and they shared the last ten years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wives, Garnet and Marie.
Roger is survived by his wife, June, of the home; a step-daughter, Karen Hogan, and her husband, Paul, of St. Louis, Missouri; three step-grandchildren, Michael Hogan, and his wife, Esperanza, Kelly Hogan, and Laura Swearingen, and her husband, Gary; four step-great-grandchildren, Shane, Zoe, Natalie, and Sawyer; a sister, Judith Lee, and her husband, Art, of Bemidji, Minnesota; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Waupaca, Wisconsin, and then moved with his family to Evanston, Illinois, where he graduated from high school. He served his country faithfully in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. For most of his adult years, Roger made his home in Evanston and Jerseyville, Illinois, and worked in the Food Products Department at Alton Memorial Hospital for eighteen years. In 2001, he and June moved to Arkansas and made their home until 2005, when they moved to Lebanon, Missouri.
Roger was raised in the Lutheran faith and had attended a United Methodist Church in Arkansas.
He was a member of the Lebanon Lions Club, the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling and building model ships and collecting model trains.
Roger was a loving husband, step-father, step-grandfather, step-great-grandfather, and brother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he made for them throughout the years.
