Roma Clifford Rogers (Lebanon) 's Obituary
Roma Clifford Rogers, son of Gillam Avery and Mary Gillette Drennon Rogers, was born September 22, 1932, near Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, August 23, 2014, in his home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-one years, eleven months, and one day.
On October 17, 1958, he was united in marriage to Mary Mae Ward, and to this union four daughters and four sons were born.
He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Johnny, Earl, Elvin, Homer, and Albert; and six sisters, Bonnie, Alma, Clara, Ruby, Gladys and Goldie.
Roma is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Mary, of the home; four daughters, Juanita Rogers, and Randy Jones, of Windyville, Missouri, Jonita Jones, and her husband, Ronnie, of Lebanon, Missouri, Lisa Canale, and her husband, Robert, of Jefferson City, Missouri, and Christy Lowrance, of Conway, Missouri; four sons, Ronnie Rogers, Clifford Rogers, and Connie Alam-Shashari, David Rogers, and Joseph Rogers, and his wife, Candy, all of Lebanon, Missouri; twenty-eight grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised near Lebanon, and attended Atchley Blackfoot School. After he and Mary were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their family. Roma was employed by Independent Stave Company for over thirty years, before retiring.
Roma had made his profession of faith in Christ early in his life, and had established a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior.
In his spare time he enjoyed gardening, and also liked hunting and fishing. His family was always the most important part of his life and he especially enjoyed spending time with all of his grandchildren.
Roma was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will treasure the wonderful memories he created for them during his eighty-one years.
A memorial has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
