Ronald Dwaine Henderson's Obituary
Ronald Dwaine Henderson was born the second son of Dwight & Ruby Sikes Henderson on November 15, 1941. He departed this life, Friday, September 30, 2011 in the Specialty Select Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty nine years, ten months and 15 days.
On November 15, 1961, Springfield, Missouri, Ronnie was united in marriage to Judith Young and together they shared the last forty-nine years.
Ronnie was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Dwight Henderson on December 12, 1963 and his father, Dwight Harvey Henderson on November 30, 2008. Ronnie is survived by his wife Judy, of the home, a daughter, Kim Ferriel and husband Mike, Hartville, Missouri; a son Kevin Henderson & wife Ronda, Lebanon, Missouri; four grand-daughters, Kevina Henderson, Mikayla Ferriel, Desiree Woods & Panchita Stalder; three great grand-children Levi, Jaycee & Ella; his mother, Ruby Henderson, Hartville, Missouri; a brother, Byron Henderson, and wife Cathy, Hartville, Missouri; a sister, Beth Simpson and husband Jim, Marshfield, Missouri; uncles, Jack Sikes and his wife Shirley, Sun City, Arizona; and Darrell Henderson, Hartville, Missouri as well as a host of relatives and many dear friends.
Ronnie was born in Lebanon, Missouri and attended Hartville Schools graduating in 1960. He loved sports and played basketball, softball & track during high school. Soon after graduation, Ronnie was employed by Cramer Chair Company. After Ronnie & Judy married, they moved to Springfield, Missouri where he worked for Masters & Jackson Paving Company. In the mid sixties, Ronnie and Judy moved to Hartville to the farm. Ronnie worked for Hiland Dairy and they raised beef cattle and feeder pigs. He worked for Hiland Dairy seventeen and one-half years; then worked for Jack Barlow Construction and later for Hartville Schools as a bus driver. Ronnie was a pleasant man and made friends easily wherever he went. He loved the outdoors and especially loved to hunt and fish. His other hobbies included taxidermy work, trap shooting, showing Tennessee Walking Horses, hunting arrowheads, rabbit hunting and pheasant hunting. Recently he enjoyed watching NASCAR racing and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball games. His favorite Cardinal players were #4, Yadier Molina and #5, Albert Pujols.
In 1978, Ronnie accepted Christ as his savior and attended the First Freewill Baptist Church, Hartville.
Ronnie was a loving husband, father, son, grand-father, great grand-father, brother, uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends.
Funeral services for Ronnie Henderson will be Tuesday October 4 2011, at 11:00 A.M. in Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Hartville, Missouri.
Burial will follow in Steele Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday evening 7-8:30 PM in the Funeral Home
