Ronnal David Pate (Hartville)'s Obituary
Ronnal “Ronnie” David Pate, son of David E. and Maxine Curnutt Pate, was born September 13, 1945 in Tyler, Texas. He departed this life Monday, March 4, 2013 in his home, Hartville, Missouri, at the age of sixty-seven years, five months, and nineteen days.
On August 14, 1966, Ronnie was united in marriage to Anita Powers, and together they have shared the past forty-seven years.
His father preceded Ronnie in death.
Ronnie is survived by his wife, Anita, of the home; son David Pate and wife Debra of Ore City, Texas; daughter, Shantae Truelock and husband Carlton of Henderson, Texas; grandchildren, Justin Pate of Hartville, Missouri and Daniel Wilson of Ore City, Texas; his siblings, Donnie Pate of Kilgore, Texas, Michelle Hunter and husband Billy of Tyler, Texas, Mickey Curtis and wife Linda of Gilmer, Texas, and Ruth Ann Patrick and husband Mike of Mobile, Alabama; his mother, Maxine Curtis of Tyler, Texas; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Ronnie was born and raised in Texas and was a graduate of Odessa High School. He started his career as an over the road truck driver as soon as he was licensed to drive. He drove a truck all his life, working for Delta and Brentag Trucking for over thirty years before retiring to the Hartville area in June of 2005. Ronnie took pride in his job had earned many commendations for his safe driving habits throughout the years. He also served as a volunteer firefighter and was recognized by his peers as Fireman of the Year.
Ronnie had accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age.
He was never a man who sat still. You would always find him tinkering on something around the farm. Ronnie could fix anything from a lawnmower to a semi-truck. Ronnie enjoyed being outdoors and loved his animals. His family was the light of his life and he worked hard to ensure that they were taken care of. He never met a stranger and if he did they weren’t strangers for very long.
Ronnie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
