Rose Jones' Obituary
ose Mary Jones, daughter of Frank and Mary Szkavron Bednarik, was born June 25, 1916 in Bettendorf, Iowa. She departed this life Thursday, April 17, 2008 in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of ninety-one years, nine months and twenty-three days. On September 5, 1936 in Davenport, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Ray Elias Jones and to this union seven children were born. Together they shared over fifty years until his passing on February 15, 1987. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Rudy S. and John Bednarik; two daughters, Susan Courter and Laberta Scrivener and a grandson, Victor Lee “Butch” Willis. Survivors include her children, John P. Jones of Omaha, Nebraska, Anita J. Robinson of Sherrard, Illinois, Larry A. Jones of Little Iberia, Louisiana, Sally Presser and husband Robert of Universal City, Texas and Rosie Holman and husband Gene of Camdenton, Missouri; twenty-five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in Bettendorf, Iowa and attended school there. After her marriage, they made their home in Pleasant Valley, Iowa. In 1948, the family moved to Camdenton, Missouri where she lived the remainder of her life. She made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Camdenton United Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women. She was a member of a ladies group in Macks Creek at one time and was a passionate gardener. She had a knack for growing large beautiful sunflowers. Most of all, she enjoyed times spent with family and friends. Rose was a loving mother and grandmother and was a caring neighbor and friend. She created many wonderful memories that her family and friends will treasure forever. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2008, in the Camdenton United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Dale Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon from 1 - 3:00 p.m. under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
