Rosella Griffin's Obituary
Rosella Edna Griffin, daughter of William and Dora Renner Ruble, was born January 7, 1922, near Orla, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, August 24, 2008, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, seven months, and seventeen days. On January 23, 1939, she was united in marriage to Hancel E. “Pete” Griffin, and to this union three daughters and two sons were born. She and Pete shared fifty-five years together before his passing on January 4, 1994. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Norma Jean Hammer, and an infant, Ethel Jean Griffin; a son, Lloyd Eugene Griffin; a great-granddaughter, Abigayl Grayson Lee; two brothers; and two sisters. Rosella is survived by a son, Doyle Griffin, and his wife, Barbara, of Plad, Missouri; a daughter, Sandra Kay Price, and her husband, Brad, of West Plains, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Terry, Larry, Tammy, Patty Jo, Debbie, Karen, Michael, Joe, and Patty Jean; fifteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in the Russ community and attended Russ School. Shortly after she and Pete were married, they made their home in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1980, Pete retired and they returned to Lebanon and made their home. Throughout the years, Rosella was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. She enjoyed caring for her home and spending time with her family and friends. She was a dedicated wife to Pete and loved her family dearly. Rosella was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the memories she made for her family and friends. Graveside services will be at 1:30 pm Wed. August 27, 2008 at the White Oak Pond Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience.Services are under the direction of the Holman- Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri.A memorial has been established to the White Oak Pond Cemetery care fund and may be made through the funeral home.
