Rosemarie Gravelle (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Rosemarie Gravelle, daughter of Antione and Stella Kastszewa Skavaril, was born June 28, 1935, in Omaha, Nebraska. She departed this life Saturday, February 7, 2015, in her home, near Grovespring, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, six months, and ten days.
On August 4, 1956, she was united in marriage to Erwin Gordon Gravelle, and to this union one daughter was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Erwin, on July 24, 2014; and a brother, Gerald Skavaril.
Rosemarie is survived by a daughter, Diana Barker, and her husband, Jerry, of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandchildren, Crissy, Brian, and Jeff; four great-grandchildren, Nick, Baily, Jaden, and Matthew; two great-great-grandchildren, Anthony and Kyson; a sister, Geraldine Rainsbarger, and her husband, Cecil, of Enumclaw, Washington; a sister-in-law, Joyce Skavaril, of Rancho Cucamonga, California; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Nebraska, and was raised in California, where she graduated from high school in El Monte, California. After she and Erwin were married, they made their home in Southern California until moving to Missouri in 1968. They purchased a farm near Grovespring, Missouri, which they operated together for as long as their health would allow. Rosemarie was also a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Rosemarie was raised in the Catholic faith, and was a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Lebanon.
She loved life on the farm and the work that came with it. She also enjoyed going to yard sales. She was very steadfast in her convictions and often spoke her mind. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren.
Rosemarie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her seventy-nine years.
