On December 10, 1946, she was united in marriage to Raymond H. Knapp, and to this union six daughters and two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond, in 1962; two daughters, Linda Atkinson, and Anna Cotrel; a son, Johnny Knapp; a granddaughter; a grandson; five brothers; and six sisters.
Rosemary is survived by four daughters, Louise Ellsworth, of Nixa, Missouri, Mary Matthews, and her husband, Ben, of the State of Texas, Barbara Knapp, of Sullivan, Missouri, and Rose Knapp, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Roger Knapp, and his partner, Mike Graff, of Union, Missouri; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She lived her entire life in Laclede County, near Lebanon. In her younger years, she worked at Vernon’s Market and Uniforms where she sewed name tags and hemmed uniforms. After she and Raymond were married, Rosemary was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family. She also worked in the cleaning department at El Rancho Motel and later at Bennett Spring.
She enjoyed gardening and fishing at the river, and liked to cook for her family and friends. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed having time with them and her friends. She was always busy doing something and her hands were rarely still.
Rosemary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her ninety-six years. She was loved so much and will be greatly missed by all of her family.
A memorial has been established to the Disabled American Veterans and donations may be left at the funeral home.
