Rosemary McDaris' Obituary
Rosemary McDaris, daughter of Henry Leroy and Anna Laura Tobler Root, was born June 24, 1918, in Kansas City, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, May 22, 2007, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-eight years, ten months, and twenty-eight days. On December 11, 1949, she was united in marriage to Ellis McDaris and together they shared the last fifty-seven years. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, George and David Root; and a sister, Anna Laura Richards. Rosemary is survived by her loving husband, Ellis, of the home; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Kansas City, Missouri area, and graduated from Westport High School. After she and Ellis were married, they made their home in Kansas City, where in addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband, Rosemary also worked as a flight statistician for Trans World Airlines for fifteen years. After she and Ellis retired in 1980, they moved to Florida and made their retirement home. A few years ago, she and Ellis relocated to Lebanon, Missouri to be near Ellis’ family. Rosemary made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was a member of Heritage Baptist Temple in Lebanon. She had established a special relationship with her Lord and Savior and enjoyed reading the Bible. She had traveled all over the world and enjoyed discovering new places to visit. She liked hearing her husband’s stories and spending time with family and friends. She loved animals and especially her dog, “Mollie B.”. Rosemary will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by her loving husband, her nieces and nephews, and her many friends. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the memories she created in our hearts. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Visitation will be held at Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until service time. Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 25, 2007, in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, Missouri. Services are under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
