Rowe Etta "Sue" Burns (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Rowe Etta "Sue" Burns, daughter of Rowe Everett and Edith Lancaster Langston, was born October 12, 1936, in Matthews, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, February 5, 2020, in her home,in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-three years, three months, and twenty-four days.
On May 9, 1970, she was united in marriage to Alfred Lecoy Burns, and they shared thirty-five years before his passing on January 5, 2006.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Larry Gene Masters; and two brothers, Dwight Gene and Larry Ray Langston.
Sue is survived by a daughter, Cherie Masters, of Lebanon, Missouri; two granddaughters, Amanda Ramsey, of Columbia, Missouri, and Belinda Alexander, and her husband, Mike, of Baldwin, Missouri; three great-grandchildren, Roman, Veyda, and Miley; two sisters, Joyce Cannon, and her husband, Larry Miller, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Linda Bramlett, of Moore, Oklahoma; a number of nieces and nephews who loved her very much; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in East Prairie, Missouri, where she graduated from eighth grade. She began working at the age of fourteen in the Woolworth Store. She then worked for the Westinghouse catalog division. Later, she began buying, fixing up and selling houses in Owensville, Missouri. After retiring she moved to Lebanon.
She was a member of the Rose O’Neal Kewpie Doll Society and enjoyed collecting dolls and meeting other collectors. She liked caring for her yard and doing landscaping. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
Sue was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
Services are private and will be held at a later date.
