Rowland Trent's Obituary
Rowland Oliver Trent, son of Audie D. And Almeda Ocie Duckworth Trent, was born July 14, 1926, near Thornfield, in Ozark County, Missouri. He departed this life Monday, May 15, 2006, in Cox Walnut Lawn Transitional Care Unit, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-nine years, ten months, and one day. On April 10, 1948, he was united in marriage to Willda L. Prater, and to this union three daughters and three sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul, Vaughn, and Frank Trent; two sisters, Velma Coleman, and Naomi Clark; four brothers-in-law, Hester Clark, Martin Wolf, Bill Stehle, and Everette Coleman; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Trent. Rowland is survived by his loving wife of fifty-eight years, Willda, of the home; three sons and daughters-in-law, Rowland and Paulette Trent, of Galt, California, Audie and Debbie Trent, of Tranquility, California, and Lonnie Joe and Twanna Trent, of Kansas City, Missouri; three daughters and sons-in-law, Minnie and Dan Blankenship, of Kerman, California, Alene and Roger Thomas, of Sacramento, California, and Willda and Rex Trout, of Lebanon, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jim Trent, and his wife, Peggy, of Brighton, Missouri; two sisters, Avil Stehle, of Waterford, California, and Verma Wolf, of Strafford, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in Ozark County, Missouri, and then moved to California when he was seventeen years old. He worked in the shipyards for a few years before entering the military. He served his country faithfully in the United States Navy during World War II. After he and Willda were first married, they made their home on a farm in the Lebanon area for five years before moving to California in 1954. Rowland worked on a crop ranch for a number of years and then was employed by the Westland Water District until retiring. In 1981, he and Willda returned to Lebanon and made their home. Rowland had made his profession of belief in Christ and followed the Baptist faith. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post # 4107 of Lebanon. In his spare time he enjoyed being outdoors where his favorite activities were fishing and gardening. He loved his family dearly and greatly enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Rowland was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will treasure the memories he made for his family and friends. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 19, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri.
