Roy Earl Daniel (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Roy Daniel, 79, passed away on April 5, 2026, in Bolivar, Missouri, after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Known for his steadfast faith, strong hands, and inability to sit still, Roy lived a life marked by service, hard work, and deep love for his family. Born March 9, 1947, in Farmington, New Mexico, Roy grew up in and around Snowflake, Arizona, where he graduated high school before enlisting in the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country in Vietnam in 1968-69. Upon returning home, he married his high school sweetheart, Kathy, on December 13, 1969. A true jack of all trades, Roy owned and operated an excavation company in Kingman, Arizona, and was known as the person who could fix just about anything—especially if it had wheels. He loved stock car racing, outdoor adventures, and teaching his daughters skills that ranged from riding ATVs to camping and shooting. Roy was a devoted follower of Jesus for 55 years and faithfully served his church in many roles, including 46 years as a deacon and multiple mission trips. Sharing his faith with his family was one of his greatest joys and accomplishments. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd Daniel and Irene Kibble, and his brothers, Dale, Coleman, and Lloyd Jr. Roy is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughters Christy Baze (Steve) and Robyn Stapleton (James); grandchildren Tristan and Terran Baze, Keira, Daniel, and Loralei Stapleton; sisters Della Orender and Jan Daniel; and many nieces and nephews. Roy spent his final hours telling stories and worshipping Jesus with loved ones - a fitting end to a life lived with purpose, faith, and joy. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar with a memorial service starting at 11:00 AM. Burial with military honors will take place at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri A celebration of life will be held after the burial from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, April 13, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Bolivar.
