Roy "Mac" Keys (Seymour)'s Obituary
Roy MacDaniel ‘Mac’ Keys, son of Reverend Leonard and Bessie Shields Keys, was born November 22, 1949, in Macomb, Missouri, and departed this life on Monday, November 25, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy years and three days.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Iva Hutson, brothers, Eldon, Ray, Joel, Dean, Don and Paul, sister-in-law, Charlotte Jean Sanders, and brother-in-law, Dale Stulce.
Mac was united in marriage to Vickie Lynn Wilkinson on July 25, 1988, who survives. He is also survived by a son, Michael Keys and wife, Christy, and their children, Tessa and Grace; daughter, Virginia Hall and husband, Ed, and their children, Charlie Hall and wife, Nicole, and Faith Hall; three sisters-in-law, Debbie Wilkinson and Fred Meatte, Rena Stulce, and Etta White and husband, Benny; two brothers-in-law, Ercil Wilkinson and wife, Kathy, and Tom Sanders; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
He was born in Macomb and was a graduate of Norwood High School in the Class of 1967. He served his country faithfully in the United States Army and lived most of his life in the Mansfield area. Mac started working at Ozarks Correctional Center in 1987 and retired in 2008.
Mac was a cut-up and there was never a dull moment when you were around him. He could be ornery, but it was always in a good way.
In his spare time, he loved to fish and hunt. Time spent with grandkids, nieces and nephews was full of jokes, fun and laughter.
Roy MacDaniel Keys was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and will always remember the many special times we had together.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 30 at 11 a.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Seymour. Visitation will be held Friday, Nov. 29 from 6:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
